What Causes Fine Lines and Dynamic Wrinkles?
Fine lines that appear with facial expression (often called “dynamic wrinkles”) develop over time due to repeated muscle movement, alongside natural changes in skin elasticity and collagen production as we age.
Sun exposure, smoking and hydration levels can also influence how visible these lines become.
Why a Consultation Comes First
Not everyone is a suitable candidate for every treatment option, and what’s appropriate varies significantly based on individual factors including skin condition, medical history, allergies and the specific areas of concern.
A proper consultation exists to work through all of this before any decision is made, not after.
What Does a Consultation Typically Involve?
Understanding Your Concerns and History
This covers what’s bothering you, what you’re hoping to achieve and a review of your medical history, including any allergies, medications or conditions that could affect suitability.
An Honest Conversation About the Range of Options
This may include lifestyle and skincare adjustments, non-invasive treatments or, in some cases, prescription-only treatments such as botulinum toxin injections.
Each option is discussed on its own terms, with no single option assumed to be the right fit going in.
A Clear Answer on Suitability
Treatment is only ever considered if a qualified clinician determines it’s appropriate and safe for that individual specifically.
What Happens If You’re Not Found Suitable?
This is worth being upfront about. Being found unsuitable for a particular treatment is a normal and common outcome of a consultation, not a failure of the process.
In that case, your clinician will discuss what alternative options, if any, might be more appropriate for you.
No Treatment Is Sold or Administered Without This Process
Whatever is discussed at a consultation, nothing is provided, sold or administered unless a clinician has clinically assessed and confirmed that it’s suitable for you individually.
A consultation is a conversation rather than a commitment, for you or for the clinic.
